RSS Reader

December 4, 2008

RSS technology can benefit all teachers because RSS lets them share their teaching methods to use in the classroom through blogging.  Teachers from everywhere can subscribe to anyone’s blog website and communicate.  I am using GoogleReader and I subscribed to Liz Hagerty, Jessie VonIns, Jessica Vorst, Elizebeth Scarff, and Scott Harrold’s blogs.

New Technology

Wireless mouseA wireless mouse is extremely helpful when you have to carry a portable computer from one room to the next.  They also don’t restrict a teacher from sitting next to their computer while teaching a lesson unlike a wired mouse where you can only go as far away from the computer as the wire lets you.  For more information visit this website… INFO!

Jump Drives

November 20, 2008

Jump Drives, or flash drives, are small and easy to use devices that plug directly into your USB port.  They can hold up to 64GB of storage, and as little as 1GB.  Jump drives have taken the place of floppy disks, but are much more usefull because of the amount of storage they can hold, and how easy they are to carry around.  Many people simply clip them to their key chain’s.  Students and teachers alike can benefit from jump drives by carrying their word documents, power points, graphics, ect.  You can find more information on jump drives at this website: INFO!

Portable Hard Drives

November 16, 2008

A portable hard drive is basically what it’s name says it is.  It is a disk drive that can be plugged in to a USB port or firewall, and hold mass storage.

Many people use portable hard drives as a backup for all the information on their computer, or a secondary storage unit.  They are very convenient for everyone who needs to move mass amounts of storage, or needs to save picture files, audio files, or video files without taking up too much space on a laptop. the following is a link to more information on Portable hard drives:  page7459.cfm
